Single Deck Blackjack – Playing the game

The object of Blackjack is to beat the Dealer by coming as close to 21 without going over. The Dealer will bust if the total card value exceeds 21, in which case any one of your standing hands will win. If you bust the Dealer wins the hand you lose your wager. In the event of a tie, this is called a push, and your bet for that hand will be returned.

Card values

Face cards are valued at 10 and Aces are worth either 1 or 11. All other cards are worth the value on their face. When the hand's first two cards equal 21 such as an Ace plus a face card, it is called Blackjack. Aces are evaluated in such a way that the highest value will be given so as long as it will not cause the hand to bust. The total card value of your hand is the total of all the cards you hold.

Placing a bet

Wagers must be place prior to receiving any cards. The bet limit can be lowered or raised by adjusting the Min/Max button right on the screen or by accessing the Options menu and adjusting the Bet Level.

To wager, you must select a chip value. Chips are located at the bottom of the screen. After clicking the bet marker you must decide what position to play. You can play any where from one position to as many as three simultaneously.

You can also vary your stake for each position.

Starting the game

You will need to click on the DEAL button after you have placed your wagers. At this point the cards will be dealt. Both the Player and the Dealer will receive two cards. If you chose to play more than one hand, then you will receive two cards for each position.

Your cards will both be in the face up positions as opposed to the Dealer, who will receive one card in the face up position and one face down.

After receiving your cards you will need to evaluate your hand and weigh your options.
