A HIT is when one asks to receive an additional card. Upon receiving the card the total will reflect an updated value. There is no limit on the number of hits you can request so as long as the hand does not bust. You can also choose to HOLD or declare a Blackjack which is 21.
When you stand you are choosing to receive no additional cards and the hand will remain the same.
On the first two cards only, you can choose to double your original wager. When the double is made the original wager increases two fold and you will receive only one additional card. This option is usually made when the initial two cards equal 11. If the next card you receive is a 10 or face card then you will have 21 or a Blackjack. The options that follow will vary and depend on the value of those original two cards.
When you hold two cards that are identical then you may split them into two individual hands. From this point play will proceed as usual. Be aware that the wager placed on the first hand will be duplicated when a hand is split. The rules below identify how splits are handled:
1. If the outcome of a split hand results in Blackjack, it will be paid back at 1 to 1 but will lose if the Dealer also holds a Blackjack.
2. When Aces are split only one hand will receive one card.
You may surrender your wager to the Dealer if you think the Dealer has the better hand. By doing so, the game will conclude and only half of your wager is lost.
Immediately after the Dealer's first card is an Ace, he will check for Blackjack.
In the even the Dealer's face up card is an Ace, you will be offered Insurance against Dealer Blackjack. This Insurance bet is a wager placed to gambles that the Dealer's face down card will generate a Blackjack hand. The bet will be half of the original bet you placed.
The game will proceed as usual if the Dealer hand does not produce a Blackjack outcome, but you will have lost your side bet. If the Dealer's hand reveals Blackjack, then you will have won the side bet at 2 to 1. However, you will lose your main wager if you do not also hold a Blackjack.
A Seven Card Charlie is when a hand of seven cards is held at the time without busting. This hand pays 1 to 1.
