Baccarat

With this Baccarat game you choose to either play with the Banker or with a player. You can also place wager on ties. The object of this game is to obtain a total card value close to 9 and beat out the Dealer.

Card values and basic game play

Face cards and 10s are valued at 0, Aces are valued at 1, and all other are valued at the number on the face of the card. When the total card value is greater than 9 then you will take 10 away. For example a Queen plus 6 will equal 6 because you take 10 away from the total of 16.

Placing a bet

Wagers must be placed prior to receiving any cards. The bet limit is dictated by the member's account level, but can be changed by accessing the Cashier menu, followed by Member Services, then Preferences, and finally Bet Level. Select a chip by clicking on it and then proceed to the Player, Banker, or Tie spot.

Starting the game

Step 1 - Select betting position

The first decision you need to make will position you want to bet on. You can choose either the Player, Banker, or Tie position or all three.

Step 2 - Cards dealt

After wagers are complete then both the Player and Dealer will receive two cards apiece in the face up position.

Step 3 - Total cards

Both hands will be evaluated as the rules dictate. Each score is located to the right of the total number of cards. Remember the total score will be between 0-9 and hands cannot bust.

Step 4 - Hand dependent

The steps that follow will vary depending on what cards are dealt. When the Dealer or the Player total value is either an 8 or 9 then the hand will be evaluated against one another and the game concludes.

The Player will continue, if neither has a Natural, followed by the Dealer.

The Player receiving another card will be determined by the rules below:

1. The Player will STAND on all 6s-7s, after which he will receive no additional cards.

2. The Player will take a HIT if the total equals 5 or lower.

The Dealer's next move will depend on the Player's outcome and is described below:

In outcomes where the Player STANDS, whether or not the BANKER will receive another card will be based on the following:

1. The BANKER will STAND on all 6s-7s.

If either the Banker has a total of 6 or 7, he always STANDS.

2. The BANKER will take a HIT if the total equals 5 or less.

If the Banker has a 5 or less, he always HITS.

When the Player takes a HIT, the table below outlines in which cases the Banker will and will not receive another card.
